Situated inside Tarangire National Park 27km from the main gate; Elephants Lair places you at the heart of Africa’s greatest elephant refuge, where ancient baobab trees and the Tarangire River draw the largest elephant concentrations on the continent.
Tarangire is different from the Serengeti. It is quieter, more textured, older-feeling. The baobab trees are thousands of years old. The river draws elephants in extraordinary numbers, sometimes hundreds in a single afternoon. Elephants Lair is positioned deep inside the park, far from the entrance crowds, in a private concession where wildlife moves freely and your experience is entirely unshared.
Elephants Lair offers just eleven thoughtfully designed rooms and suites, creating an atmosphere that feels private, calm and deeply connected to its surroundings.

During the drier months, animals gather around the river and remaining waterholes, creating rewarding game viewing. When the rains return, the landscape becomes green and full of movement, revealing a softer and more atmospheric side of the park.
